Clear all text?

This empties the editor and removes the copy saved on this device. It can’t be undone.

Take it further with an AI

Copy and paste the instruction below into your preferred AI chat (like ChatGPT or Claude) along with your cleaned text to transform it into natural, human-like prose.

warning

“Private by design” does not apply to this step. The moment you paste your text into an external AI service (ChatGPT, Claude, other LLMs), it leaves your device and is handled by that provider. You are responsible for whatever you choose to share with them.

smart_toyPrompt for AI Agent

You are writing text that should read as natural human prose, not AI-generated content.

## Typography (MUST use keyboard characters)
- Use hyphen (-) only. Never use em/en dash (— –), figure dash, minus sign (−), or unicode hyphens.
- Use straight double quotes (") only. Never use curly quotes (“ ”), guillemets (« »), or double primes (″).
- Use straight apostrophe (') only. Never use curly apostrophe (’), single guillemets (‹ ›), or primes (′).
- Use three ASCII periods (...) only. Never use the ellipsis character (…).
- Use regular spaces only. Never use non-breaking, thin, em/en, or ideographic Unicode spaces.
- Use ASCII hyphens (-) for list bullets. Never use bullet characters (•, ◦, ▪, ─, ·).
- Use ASCII arrows (->, <-, =>, ^, v) only. Never use Unicode arrows (→, ←, ➡, ▲).
- Use ASCII math (!=, <=, >=, *, +/-) only. Never use Unicode math symbols (≠, ≤, ≥, ×, ±).
- Use plain text markers ([x], [i], (c)) only. Never use checkmarks (✓, ✅), warnings (⚠), or © ® ™.
- Never embed invisible characters: zero-width space/joiner, word joiner, soft hyphen, or BOM.

## Vocabulary (AVOID overusing)
- AI buzzwords: delve, tapestry, underscore, highlight, foster, vibrant, pivotal, testament, landscape, interplay, intricate, nuanced, multifaceted, robust, comprehensive, leverage, utilize, facilitate, realm, paradigm, synergy, holistic, streamline, elevate, harness, navigate, embark, foster, showcase, resonate, underscore.
- Promotional language: groundbreaking, cutting-edge, world-class, game-changing, transformative, unparalleled, nestled, breathtaking, must-visit, vibrant hub.
- Vague attributions: "experts say", "observers note", "industry reports suggest", "it is widely believed".
- Canned notability phrases: "independent coverage", "active social media presence", "has been featured in", "plays a vital role".

## Sentence patterns (AVOID)
- Rule of three: listing exactly three items or traits in a row for rhetorical effect.
- Negative parallelisms: "not just X, but also Y" / "not X, but Y".
- Present-participle tag-ons: ending sentences with vague "-ing" clauses about significance, impact, or legacy.
- Outline conclusions: "Despite challenges, X continues to thrive" / "The future looks bright".
- Excessive significance framing: "underscores the importance", "highlights the enduring legacy", "serves as a testament to".

## Tone (AVOID)
- Promotional or advertisement-like prose.
- Superficial analysis that adds no concrete information.
- Over-emphasis on broader trends, legacy, or cultural significance for mundane facts.
- Hedging preambles followed by grand claims anyway.
- Collaborative/chatbot voice: "I hope this helps", "feel free to", "let me know if".

## Style (AVOID)
- Title Case In Every Heading Word (unless required by format).
- Overuse of boldface for emphasis.
- Markdown artifacts (**, ##, ---) when output should be plain text.
- Skipping heading levels or adding thematic breaks before every section.

## Writing principles (DO)
- Use simple, direct sentences with basic copulatives ("is", "are", "was").
- State facts plainly without padding about significance or impact.
- Vary sentence length naturally; avoid formulaic rhythm.
- Use specific details instead of generic superlatives.
- Match the register of the genre (formal, casual, technical) consistently.
- Prefer active voice when it reads more naturally.

Rewrite or draft text following these rules. Preserve meaning and structure unless asked otherwise.

helpHow AI Humanizer works

What is this?

AI writing tools leave small typographic fingerprints — fancy dashes (—), curly quotes (“ ”), the ellipsis character (…) and even invisible spaces. AI Humanizer finds these, lets you swap them for the plain versions a person would normally type, and can also replace specific words or names. The result reads like you wrote it, not a machine.

The editor

Paste or type into Input Text. As you go, anything detected is highlighted, and redacted words are shown struck through with their replacement. AI symbols are tinted in one of two colours:

  • Red — the symbol’s category is switched on, so Clean will replace it. These are the items in the detected count.
  • Yellow — the symbol is present but its category is switched off, so it will be left as is. It’s flagged for your awareness only.
  • Clean rewrites the text in one step — it replaces every enabled symbol and applies your word redactions.
  • Copy copies the current editor contents to your clipboard.
  • Clear empties the editor.
  • The bar at the bottom shows characters, words, and detected — how many things were found in the categories you have switched on.

Settings · Text Cleaning Options

Each switch is one category of AI typography — dashes, quotes, the ellipsis, bullet points, invisible characters, and so on. When a switch is on, Clean replaces those characters with plain equivalents. The “N found” next to each one tells you how many are in your current text.

Settings · Display

How the app looks, plus options to keep the view tidy:

  • Dark theme — switch the whole interface between a light and a dark colour scheme.
  • Show line numbers — add a line-number gutter down the left edge of the editor.
  • Editor size — choose how tall the input area is: Default, Large, or Extra large.
  • Hide counts on disabled options— show “N found” only for the switches you have turned on, so you can focus on what you’re actually cleaning.
  • Hide symbols from disabled options — stop tinting the yellow symbols (the ones from switched-off categories) so only the red, soon-to-be-cleaned symbols stand out.
  • Do not show “0 found” — hide the count wherever nothing was found, to cut clutter.
  • Show agent prompt— show or hide the “Prompt for AI Agent” panel below the editor (described under The agent prompt).
  • Sticky navbar — keep the top bar fixed in place as you scroll; turn it off to let it scroll away with the page.

Settings · Word Redaction

Replace specific words or phrases — for example a real name with [Redacted]. Press Add Pair, type the word to find and what to replace it with. The Matching menu controls how loosely it matches:

  • Low (exact) — only the whole word on its own. “cat” matches “cat”, not “cats” or “cat-lover”.
  • Mid (sub-word / hyphenated) — also matches a piece of a hyphenated word. “cat” matches “cat-lover”, but not “cats”.
  • High (any substring) — matches anywhere, even inside other words. “cat” matches “cats”, “scatter”, “education”.

The swap button between the two fields reverses the pair — handy when you paste already-redacted text and want to turn the replacements back into the originals.

Under each pair you’ll see the replacement preview and how many matches are in your text right now.

Settings · Privacy

Remember input text controls whether the editor keeps your text in this browser between visits. Either way nothing is ever sent anywhere — this is only about what is saved on your own device:

  • On (the default) — your text is stored locally, so it’s still there after a refresh or when you come back later.
  • Off — nothing is written to storage and any previously saved text is removed. The session becomes ephemeral: refreshing or closing the page clears the editor, so your browser asks you to confirm before you leave with text still in it.

Settings · Config

Move your settings between devices or start over. None of this touches your input text:

  • Export config — download every setting on this page, word redaction pairs included, as a timestamped .json file.
  • Import config — load settings back in from a file you previously exported.
  • Restore defaults — reset every setting, including word redaction, to how it first shipped.

The agent prompt

Below the editor is a ready-made instruction you can copy into ChatGPT, Claude, or any AI chat — paste it together with your text to have the model rewrite it into natural, human-sounding prose. Show more expands it; Copy always copies the full prompt.
